Boreal Wildlife Centre - Holiday House

Boreal Wildlife Centre is located in Viiksimo, Kuhmo, in the middle of the Finnish wilderness, not far from the Russian border. The area is tapestry of small lakes, numerous ponds, pine heats and eskers. At the Centre you can enjoy your holiday in peace and quiet without other tourists around. In winter time there is a lot of snow for different winter activities. During summer season the centre houses mostly clients, who come to observe the wildlife. Kuhmo town centre is located one hour drive from the Boreal Wildlife Centre.

The Centre is an old border guard station of Viiksimo,  that has been renovated year 2009-2010 to tourism use. The Centre has two buildings. Main building has kitchen, dining area  for 32 persons and living room. Upstairs of the main building are four rooms for accommodation (10 beds), three showers and four toilets. The accommodation building has three separate apartments  that have eight rooms together. Each apartment has one shower and two toilets.   
 
Equipment:
- In the other end of the accommodation building is sauna (electric), 
a washing machine and a drying room.   
- A traditional wood heated sauna in the shore of the lake. 
- In the main house fully equipped kitchen with 2 ovens, 3 fridges, 
2 washing machines, microwave oven and a dinner set for 30 persons. 
Satellite television and DVD-player in living room.
